Junk removal is priced by how much of the truck you fill. Customers understand that instantly when they can see it: a quarter load for a few boxes, half a load for a garage clean-out, a full load for an estate. This Junk Removal Invoice Template makes the load size the centerpiece, with a truck in the header whose bed is divided into eight sections, five of them filled in bright lime. It also shows customers where their things went, which matters more and more to people clearing out a home.
Junk Haulers, Clean-Out Crews and Dumpster Services
It suits junk removal companies, estate and hoarding clean-out services, appliance and furniture haulers, construction debris removal, moving companies that offer haul-away, and small dumpster rental businesses. The sample shows Haul-It-Away Junk Removal billing a customer in Tulsa for a five-eighths truckload from the garage and basement, two mattress sets, a refrigerator requiring Creon recovery, four tires, a basement stair carry, and same-day service.
A Truck That Shows the Load
The header is a dark charcoal band. On the right, a side-view truck is drawn with an open bed divided into eight sections; five are filled with lime green, and three are dark gray, and a small lime label above reads 5/8 LOAD. A light cab with a blue window and three wheels completes the truck. On the left, JUNK REMOVAL is set in white Bungee capitals with INVOICE in spaced lime letters beneath, and the company name and contact details in gray.
The customer block and the invoice number, pickup date, and payment status follow. A strip records the load size, crew, time on site, location, and heavy items. The items table has a charcoal header with lime column names. Below it, a colored bar headed Where your stuff went divides the load into donated, recycled, and landfill shares, beside the totals. A charcoal footer carries a small recycling symbol and the line We donate and recycle whenever we can.
What We Can’t Take
Every junk removal company has items it cannot legally or safely haul. Listing them when customers book prevents wasted trips:
- Paint, solvents, pesticides, and other household hazardous waste
- Propane tanks, gasoline, and oil
- Asbestos and materials that may contain it
- Medical waste and sharps
- Car batteries and some electronics in areas with special disposal rules
Refer customers to your local household hazardous waste drop-off for these items.
Updating the Load Gauge
The truck is a single group, so select it and then click individual bed sections to change their color. Fill two sections for a quarter load, four for half, six for three-quarters, and all eight for a full truck, and change the label above the bed to match. It takes seconds and turns the price into something the customer can see.
Volume Pricing Plus Item Fees
Most junk removal pricing starts with the load size and adds fees for items that cost extra to dispose of: mattresses, refrigerators and freezers (Creon recovery), tires, electronics and very heavy items. Difficult access, such as a basement stair carry, and same-day service can also be listed separately. In the sample, these add up to $635.00, and an online booking discount of $25 brings the total paid to $610.00.
Where Your Stuff Went
Customers increasingly want to know that their old sofa was donated rather than dumped. The split bar shows the share of the load donated, recycled and sent to landfill, and the note beneath names the charity and what was recycled. To update it, resize the three colored sections so they add up to the full width and change the percentages in their labels.
Changing Fees and Discounts
The load strip, items list, and totals are editor tables. Double-click them or use Edit Table Data, adding lines with + Add Row and removing extras with – Remove Last. Prices are typed text, so recalculate the subtotal and total after any change.
Branding the Truck and Colors
Lime on charcoal is bold and eco-friendly in feel. If your trucks are orange, blue, or red, recolor the filled bed sections, the INVOICE text, the table headings, and the total row to match. The recycling symbol in the footer is an editable vector with its own color swatch.
Tablet, Email or Paper at the Curb
The invoice is designed for letter-size paper. Crews usually email it from a tablet as soon as the truck is loaded, but a printed copy with the customer’s signature is useful for large clean-outs and estate jobs where several family members are involved.
Estate Clean-Outs and Property Managers
Estate clean-outs and rental turnovers often involve several loads over more than one day. List each load with its date and size, and add sorting or donation-run time as separate lines. Property managers usually need the unit address and a work order number on the invoice, so add them to the customer block.
Quoting on Site Versus Online
Many customers book online with a rough description, and the crew confirms the price on site once they see the pile. Explain this when customers book, and have the crew show the load gauge on a tablet before loading starts: This looks like about five-eighths of the truck, which is 25 plus the mattress and fridge fees. Agreeing the price before lifting anything avoids nearly every dispute.
Donation Receipts for Customers
When items go to a charity, customers may be able to claim a tax deduction for the donation. Ask the charity for a donation receipt in the customer’s name, or tell customers how to request one. Mentioning this on the invoice note is a small courtesy that customers remember.
Junk Removal Invoice FAQs
Can I bill by the hour instead of by load?
Yes. Replace the volume line with crew hours and your hourly rate, and use the gauge only to show the load size.
How do I bill a dumpster rental?
List the dumpster size, rental days, and tonnage as separate lines.
Do I need the donation bar?
No, but customers appreciate it. Delete it if you do not track where items go.
